Born in New York, Benoit divides his time between the Big Apple and Puerto Rico. He studied film at Syracuse University’s prestigious experimental art-media program where he directed a number of short films and animations before graduating in 2000.
After several industrious years gaining recognition as a talented commercial and music video editor, he was given the chance to direct his first spot, and has been busy ever since. His kinetic visual style, creative editing, and command of cinematic language have put him in high demand and made him an invaluable collaborator for a growing number of clients including McDonald’s, Coors Light, Toyota, Sprint, and many others. His work has been showcased in Latin Spots, won awards at El Festival Cuspide, and been selected finalist in The New York Festivals.
In his free time, Benoit enjoys painting, knife-throwing, and playing drums.
